Alaves Officially Recruits Ex-Coach Torino
The start is less satisfactory in La Liga this season forcing Deportivo Alaves to make a change of coach.
And the result, El Glorioso has officially appointed Gianni De Biasi as their new coach.
De Biasi, now 61, agrees to train Alaves on contract until the end of the season with an option to extend for a season. The Italian manager replaced Luis Zubeldia, who was sacked a few days ago after Alaves suffered four straight defeats.
De Biasi himself had previously coached Albania for six years. The former coach of Torino and Udinese delivered Albania to the 2016 European Cup finals. That was the first time Albania had broken into the finals of a major tournament.
De Biasi resigned from the Albanian national team in June. He chose not to renew his contract.
De Biasi had an experience in La Liga when he coached Levante in 2007-2008. He is now charged with raising Alaves, who have not earned a point from five La Liga matches this season and slumped in the relegation zone.
