Kubu Giallorossi who gave confirmation of this transfer. They announced it through the club’s official website after Schick underwent a medical test on Tuesday morning.
Schick transfer status is a one-season loan. After that, Rome has an obligation to buy it in the summer of next year.
“AS Roma is happy to confirm the purchase of striker Patrik Schick from Sampdoria,” the Italian capital club said on its official website.
“The agreement covers borrowing costs of 5 million euros and after reaching certain targets there is a obligation to transfer permanently at a price of 9 million euros.”
“The permanent transfer terms also include various performance-related bonuses, worth a maximum of 8 million euros based on certain targets of clubs and players, and Sampdoria is entitled to a final 20 million euro payment by February 2020.”
“If Schick is sold before February 1, 2020, there is an agreement Sampdoria is entitled to get 50 percent of the transfer fee or 20 million euros.”
If all conditions are met then Schick will be the most expensive player ever owned by Roma. The transfer price of 42 million euros beat Rome’s record of transfers when it bought Gabriel Batistuta 36 million euros in 2001.
But considering inflation, Batistuta is still the most expensive player. According to Calcio e Finanza, Batistuta’s purchase cost at that time is equivalent to 47.9 million euros today.
